TU Dublin - Blanchardstown Campus Celebrates Multiple Sports Wins

March has been a month of significant sporting achievement at TU Dublin Blanchardstown Campus with nail-biting performances in Soccer and Basketball.

Ladies Basketball

On Tuesday 12th March, there was a superb performance from our ladies' basketball team who overcame a strong Mary Immaculate side in the Ladies Division Three Final, they will be promoted to a strong Division two league for next year where they hope to continue their recent success. Ireland's U20 Captain Claire Melia was named MVP for her outstanding performance. The full-time Score was 83-58

Ladies Soccer

On Wednesday 20th March our Ladies Soccer Team bounced back from their recent Intervarsities defeat in Belfast by winning the Rustlers Ireland Futsal Plate in WIT Arena. In the first game they beat a strong NUIG Galway 9-3 and in the second game they defeated Cork IT 4-3. Concluding with a final exciting game against Trinity College the girls game out on top winning 4-2 to become champions. Irish International Eleanor Ryan Doyle was named Player of the Tournament.

Team: Naoisha Mc Aloon, Lauren Cunningham (3), Sarah Brady (Captain), Niamh Molloy (3), Alex Cleary, Niamh Geraghty (2), Eleanor Ryan Doyle (9), Tiffany Heary, Emma O'Higgins, Aoibh Hall, Ella Ward and Chloe Ward.



Men's Soccer

On Tuesday 19th of March our Men's Soccer team were winners against TU Dublin -Tallaght Campus in the CUFL Division One Final and will now be promoted to the prestigious CUFL Premier Division next season. Blanchardstown made a bright start and were rewarded a penalty in the nineteen minute which well saved by the Tallaght Campus goalkeeper. Despite being a player down the breakthrough finally came with seventeen minutes to go with a score for Mickey Scott. Tallaght Campus gave a strong performance, but Blanchardstown held out to become Champions.
