Paul Dervan, an academic staff member from ITB's School of Business, was recently awarded best paper award at the tenth Annual International Conference on Engaging Pedagogy (ICEP) which was held in Griffith College, Dublin on December 15th.

The paper, titled 'To use (or not to use) Multiple Choice Questions in assessing higher education students, that is the Question.', discusses the use of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to assess higher education students, and identifies a number of ways MCQ testing can be strengthened in order to over come perceived weaknesses of the approach.

The International Conference on Engaging Pedagogy (ICEP) is an annual event which brings together researchers and practitioners in the field of third-level teaching in order to discuss means and methods of improving student engagement.
