We are pleased to announce that a new collaborative project between DIT, ITT and ITB is now up and running. The project is titled "Professional Development in Teaching and Learning in Engineering" and is sponsored by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

The purpose of the project is to develop a competence based professional development framework for engineering staff who teach in higher education. The framework will be designed to both recognise and support the alignment of formal and informal professional learning activities identified by those in the profession.

The project is being led by:

Jen Harvey (Head of Learning, Teaching & Technology Centre, Dublin Institute of Technology)
Cormac Mac Mahon (Lecturer, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown)
Orla Mc Connell (Associate Lecturer, Institute of Technology Tallaght)

Engagement with all stakeholders will be a fundamental part of the project and feedback is very welcome.

What our students say...

Monika Karaliunaite

"Basically the course covers everything to do with digital and online media. I had it as a hobby in sixth year but when I came here I learned so much more."
