About RECE:
RECE is less an organization than an evolving group of early childhood educators who come together each year to discuss cutting edge research, theory, and practice. The reconceptualist movement in early childhood education gained momentum among scholars around the world in the 1980s and the first RECE Conference was held in Madison, Wisconsin in 1991.
Since that time, conferences have been held in locations across the U.S. and in Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Palestine, UK, Canada and Kenya.
