Social & Community Development Students in partnership with Action from Ireland to host 2014 Afri Hedge School

ITB Social and Community Development Students in partnership with Afri will host the 2014 Action from Ireland (Afri) Hedge School here in ITB.

Afri (Action from Ireland) is an Irish based justice, peace and human rights NGO whose patrons include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former UN Assistant Secretary General Denis Halliday.



The Afri Hedge School includes workshops and talks from grassroots activists and previous guests have included former President Mary Robinson.

Afri has in the past co-organised the POSSIBILITIES summit, which welcomed the Dalai Lama to Ireland in 2011.

The theme for this year's hedge school is Awakened Conscience: Standing up for Justice, Tackling Climate Change, Opposing War and Militarism.



The event takes place on
Tues 11th November,10am to 4.00pm
Room A57, Block Aontas (Block A),
Institute of Technology Blanchardstown,
Blanchardstown Road North, Dublin 15.
Registration will start from 9.30am.
