Graduation 2019

 

Date

The annual graduation will take place on TU Dublin Blanchardstown on Friday 8th November 2019. There will be several sessions throughout the day.

 

Sessions for 2019:

 

• 10.00am : School of Informatics & Engineering (including PhD)
• 1.00pm : School of Humanities (including PhD). This session will also include Creative Digital Media.
• 4.00pm : School of Business (including Sports Management & Coaching)

Conferring Gowns and Guest Invitations

Armstrong & Oxford will provide conferring gowns at a fee of €30. Payment should be made in advance online for your gown at www.armstrongandoxford.com. (Click on the “Student Hire” link).

Gowns can be obtained from the robing room in Block D from two hours before each ceremony (e.g. 8 am for the 10am ceremony) on the day of graduation.

Graduands are required to be robed and lined up 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony (e.g. by 9.15 am for the 10am ceremony).

Please note you will NOT be able to book gowns on the day. Closing date for gown bookings is Friday 1st November.

Additional Guest Invites/Tickets: As per previous years, each graduand may be accompanied by up to two guests. As in 2018, our gowning company, Armstrong & Oxford, have taken on the responsibility of issuing guest tickets, and these tickets must be booked online when graduands are booking their conferral gowns/hats at
www.armstrongandoxford.com

Each graduand can book up to two tickets for guests to attend the Conferring Ceremony. These tickets should be booked online when booking gowns at www.armstrongandoxford.com. The closing date for booking guest tickets is Friday 1st of November.

Graduands will be given the option of booking 0, 1 or 2 guest tickets. These guest tickets will be allocated on the day, at the Armstrong & Oxford desk, when you collect your gown. Only guests with invitation cards will be admitted to the Auditorium as seating is limited.

Additional guest tickets (i.e. for graduands seeking more than 2 guest tickets) can be requested while booking your gown online at www.armstrongandoxford.com. You will be notified by email if additional tickets become available, but they will be on a first come, first served basis. Availability will only be announced after the closing date for booking gowns has passed, and there is no guarantee that there will be extra tickets. If you do not receive an email please accept that there are no additional tickets.

Guests are requested to be seated 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony (e.g. by 9.45 am for the 10am ceremony).

Lafayette Photography

Lafayette Photography is the officially appointed photographer. This service will be available in Block D from two hours before each ceremony (e.g. 8 am for the 10am ceremony) on the day of graduation. Payment should be made in advance online for your photography at www.lafayette.ie. The studios will be open both before and after your ceremony.

Name on parchment

Your full name, as per your current Banner student record (e.g. as per your transcripts) will appear on your official parchment upon graduation. Any inaccuracies or omissions in this record should be notified by email to the Exams Office at Exams.Blanchardstown@tudublin.ie by Friday 18th October. Proof (e.g. birth certificate, passport, marriage certificate, deed poll) must be provided before any changes can be made.

 

Change of address

If your address is different to that currently recorded on the TU Dublin student records system please complete this Change of Address form and submit to the Student Information Desk (SID) in the Connect Building or scan and email it to sid@tudublin.ie.

What to do if you are unable to attend the Conferring Ceremony ?

If you were invited to Conferring, but were unable to attend, please collect your award parchment from the Examinations Office (Ground Floor, Connect Building) on Tuesday 12th or Wednesday 13th November between 10am - 12:30pm and 2:30pm - 4pm. You must provide photo ID (e.g. your student card, passport or driver license) upon collection. If you cannot collect your parchment on these dates, please email exams.blanchardstown@tudublin.ie.

Please note that invites and further details about the conferring ceremonies will be issued by the end of October 2019.
