'Kaleidoscope' - Creative Digital Media Showcase, Thursday 23rd of May

On Thursday 23rd of May, we were delighted to host "Kaleidoscope", the annual End Of Year exhibition for final year Creative Digital Media students at TU Dublin Blanchardstown.

This exhibition showcased the very best in emerging digital talent including a diverse range of creatively crafted interactive design and motion projects, including work in Film-making, Animation, Visual FX, App Design, Installation, Documentary, Game Development, AR and VR.

The exhibitors this year were Aisling Power, Alan Murphy, Amanda Culligan, Andrew Rahaman, Ashley Farrell, Aoife Burke, Aqsa Khalid, Cian Daly, Conor Diggin, Conor Gunn, Diarmuid Costello, Dylan Lewis, Dylan Reilly, Eoghan O'Carroll, Jessica Abhilash, John Braga, Megan Bredin, Milaela Egan, Neil Doughty, Padraig Hawkins, Sarah Mooney, Sayonara Bittencourt, Shauna Sheridan-Donnelly, Stephen Coyle, Tobi Ilori and Zithelo Mthombeni.

Course Coordinator, Hugh McCabe, said "The Kaleidoscope show is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the wonderful work of our students on the Creative Digital Media programme. On show will be a range of projects in areas such as Interactive Storytelling, Short Film, Visual Effects, Digital Design, Installation and Gaming. It's a great chance for potential employers to meet with the best of emerging digital talent and also a great chance for the general public to enjoy the creativity and innovation of a new generation of digital natives".

Award Winners:

The Best Project of The Year award was presented to Sayonara Bittencourt for "The Senior Room", a web-based interactive experience created to bring awareness about older people in Ireland, the stories they wish to share and the work that Irish Charities develop for their well-being

The Draiocht Creative Digital Media Graduate Award 2019 was presented to Sarah Mooney for "Serenity", an installation that will help raise awareness of mental health in club culture by exploring the state of mind through an immersive, mixed media, audio visual experience.

The DEPT Graduate Innovation Award was presented to Stephen Coyle for his project "TiNK AR", a treasure hunt in augmented reality.

The Creative Digital Media "Student of the Year" award was presented to Aoife Burke.
